Only in Darwinian evolution are people allowed to say that an hypothesis based inescapably on the presumed accidental origin of life, with no supporting data at all, is “science.” The fundamental reason why a disproportionate number of children were lost or abandoned in the aftermath of Katrina’s arrival was the breakdown of family life among the poor of New Orleans. Conservatives are modest in what they assume to be the realizable goal of humanity’s march into the future. The "ideal society" is neither their expectation nor their rational goal. |
