Fear Mongering about foreign investment should be a passing fad. Oddly enough, a new marksman has joined the firing squad: mainstream conservatives. ABC's World News Tonight reporter fails to report the reason why Scottsdale, Arizona installed traffic speed cameras on the state highway – to generate easy money, not improve traffic safety. If one opinion can be made illegal because it is defamation, then why not extend the list when new claims roll in? Let us all now praise the globally competitive, brave new economy. Mothers Opposed to Men wield a formidable array of fake statistics, sob stories, and old-fashioned propaganda. Muslim terrorists use the internet for coordination, recruitment, indoctrination, training, intimidation, physical target evaluation, net disruption, distraction, propaganda, discussion, strategy development, and theft. Freedom should never be taken as an excuse to exploit the sensitivity of others, especially in matters of faith. For decades the Arab press has used the cartoon to debase and dehumanize Jews and the State of Israel. Blind men groping an elephant from different sides, trying to decide what it resembles, have fragmentary impressions. Liberals groping todayâs events from the left side are either blind, or willfully deceitful, because they present one-sided and misleading interpretations. George W. Bush must explain to the American people that Dubai Ports World has no role in providing security for the ports. Hillary Clinton is perfectly willing to profile an entire Arab country if it's politically expedient. The sad fact about this deal is that it makes one think of that old saying that capitalists are so intent on a profit that they would eagerly sell you the rope with which you intend to hang them. As the left and right race to extremes, President Bush has shown some down to earth common sense about how to resolve some troubling issues. George W. Bush has succeeded at uniting political enemies from both sides of the aisle in opposition to his plan to let a company owned by the United Arab Emirates control security for some of Americaâs largest ports. In his new book Sinisterism, Bruce Walker argues against the traditional Left-Right distinction, in support of his theory that the behavior of power-intensive regimes such as Nazism and Stalism is best explained by a shared hostility toward Christianity and Judaism. Does the dearth of black athletes at the Winter Olympics cheapen the quality of the competition? Some liberals are finally demonstrating a grasp of the proper application and value of profiling. Burt Prelutsky takes on Supreme Court term limits, the impeachment of George W. Bush, and the U.S. Senate. Democrats have gone from demanding Constitutional rights for Arab terrorists in court, to opposing Arab business owners buying a share of some terminals. The Democrats' efforts to shut down patriotic TV spots in Minnesota has drawn no outrage or storms of protest from the news media. Dubai has a worldwide presence, an extensive history of operating ports, and a reputation to uphold. No one has the right to prevent businesses from expanding to new locations. Experience is said to be one of the best teachers. Not, however, with the evergreen hypothesis that income redistribution is the solution to all of mankindâs problems. While it is forbidden for a person to take another's life under Jewish law, having a machine do it for you has apparently been deemed kosher. When conservative Republicans find more in common with the utterances of Democrats, the Bush White House has a major disconnect. After giving mere lip service to securing our nation's land borders, the administration now opts to leave us vulnerable at our major eastern seaports. |
