"Political leadership" is just another oxymoron. Which ever way the voting wind blows, so drifts the "political leadership". These people lead nothing. Don't be surprised or offended when our morally bankrupt "political leadership" forsakes legitimate American livelihood for anticipated political gain. It is what our elected representatives are -- sops with at least two faces that claim to reflect our views. So, write a letter. Make a call. Let them know how you feel. Help them drift -- they will, they always do. WARNING: due to upcoming elections, expect many statements designed to appease and enlighten the voting public and trumpet how much "good" has been does for us. Most of us will believe it since it's "good TV" or it was "read in the post". I will vote in upcoming elections, but Donald Duck looks pretty good right now.

Every time I see McCain/Kennedy/Specter on TV I see dictators. In fact the senate is filled with dictators who shove legislation down our throats whether we want it or not. And the House = HB513 makes 527's follow the same FEC rules in the McCain/Finegold bill. This affects Club for Growth, Swift-boat Vets, etc. as well as moveon.org. Only 11 republicans voted against this bill. Another attempt to limit our First Amendment rights.

Honker,

There ARE some fairly good, traditionally conservative bills, Senator Kyl's for one, that will never see the light of day in the Senate because it is run by the GOPs effete, elitist globalization-trumps-sovereignty wing. They're more interested in the health of the largest Corporations, and the wealthy transnationalists that run them, than they are in the well-being of our children. Democrats of this stripe are more interested in creating a permanently social-welfare-dependent underclass of future registered leftists than they are in seeing people move up in society.

If your are middle class and your senator says he cares about you to your face, he's either pandering or lying. Both camps are basically saying in just about everything they do: "to hell with the middle class. It gets in our way too much and never was good for much of anything. If the middle class is so great, how come they don't write bigger checks to my party and my campaign account." They know it will be so much easier to control a majority that is primarily subervient, underclass serfs while hoping against hope that nobody ever again learns that our system actually mandates that they serve only at our consent.

On immigration, the Senate is filled with modern-day Marie Antoinettes. They turn their backs on us to embrace invading low-IQ foreigners while saying under their breath, "let the citizens eat dirt."

One is identified by the company he keeps. Why does he need Teddy Kennedy. He teamed with Feingold to produce a loser. Now he has teamed with a lifetime loser to bring another disaster to America. Is he a Hanoi Canidate?

Why stop at McCain? At least he is willing to put his name on something. I know McCain is not a conservative, but he has never stated he was. I pray not to decide between McCain and Clinton, but like I wrote, at least he will put a plan forth. It is up to Conservatives to bring forth a conservative plan to defeat McCain- Kennedy. We shouldn't play the game of doing nothing and hoping it will work out. Let Democrats do that.

I do not even blame McCain for campaign finance reform. He presented something he believed in, our president signed into law a bill he didn't believe in. Bush wanted the Supreme Court to do his dirty work, this was the real politcal bankruptcy of McCain- Feingold.
