When oil companies make record profits, it's called "price gouging." When the government raises gas taxes to record-high levels, it's called "saving the planet." [...] The reason gas prices are increasing is not the fault of the oil companies, but because of several factors outside of their control, most notably the cost of crude oil. [...] The concept of freedom rests on a government limited to the protection of individual rights, while the concept of democracy rests on a government run by unlimited majority rule; we need to stop confusing these two opposite ideas.
