We don't see that desire in a majority of our current wave of illegals. America is just a place to make more money than at home. Without the desire to be American, there isn't too much incentive to learn the language. Without a unifying language (and culture), we aren't a melting pot. We are all just a bunch of foreigners sharing a geographical area. Well written and quite true.
