Re: Says pal Chris Lehane: "People are now looking at him through the prism of the last six years and realizing that he had and has a lot to offer." Yes, Chris, and he REALLY blossoms when I look at him through a kaleidoscope.

I give up. Where is it suggested that this article is about Al Gore's book? Did I miss something?

"Is Al Gore Ready For His Close-up?

Gone is the crazy Uncle Al of his Moveon.org days; in his place we find someone who’s now described as a ‘leading man’ possessed of ‘star power’, conjuring up memories of Al Gore, Alpha Male."

Doesn't sound much like the makings of a book review to me? The article right above this is a book review of Howard Zinn's "You Can't Be Neutral On A Moving Train", maybe you got them mixed up.

I thought this was billed as a review of Gore's book, not of Gore and his chances in a run for president in '08?

An interesting piece, certainly, but I would have liked to see more on the book.

Al is addicted in the same way all politicians are; as Kerry is, for instance. Addicts
make the best actors, since they've long since lost any true sense of themselves, will
do anything for a fix...in Al's case having AFOne on call would do it...and will become
whatever they must to score. Al's going to look heroic to the desperate left, as will
Kerry to another faction of the same. But if Al runs the pathos factor will set a new
American record. Note on the 'green card' in politics: Kyoto is dying a slow miserable
death. Canada just dropped it, and the EU is giving it nothing but sorrowful
rhetoric.
