White House Confidential is a compilation of nasty rumors, known facts, canards, and wild speculation that have titillated the unwashed for a couple of centuries. [...] The two movies dealing with 9/11 showcase the heroism of private citizens who are called upon to rise above the self-imposed limitations of their daily lives and fight the evil that confronts them. [...] If attendees of this year's International AIDS Conference wanted to challenge the former President, they'd have done better to examine the quality of his efforts, not the quantity. [...] Do not be fooled by the glossy ads promising carefree living, enhanced property values, recreational amenities and yes, even romance. The reality is very different. [...] Focusing attention only on Mexican "invaders" turns the issue into one of race and nationality and obscures the moral wrong of theft. The crime is that government coercion is used to force some to take on the responsibility of providing for others. [...] Anti-Western elements across the globe have been able to overlook any ideological, religious, or political difference that under other circumstances might have pit them against each other in a struggle to the death, and they have thus began to collaborate effectively and without reservation. [...] Oak Park Village's war on Lane Bryant. [...] According to Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton's new book, several members of the 9/11 Commission wanted to cover up the fact that U.S. support for Israel was one of the motivating factors behind al Qaeda’s 9/11 attack. [...] The main reason I place no stock in conspiracy theories is because I happen to believe that if two people know a secret, one of them will tell someone else within 17 seconds. [...] The shared parenting initiative will protect children from bitter custody battles and ensure they do not take place unless a parent is truly unfit. [...] In the former Soviet bloc countries, parties on both the Left and Right stunt growth, compromise the free market’s reputation, hinder the achievement of democratic maturity, while they fan the flame of chauvinistic nationalism. The latest victim of this chauvinism is the Magyars in the Slovak Republic. [...] Somewhere in this great land of ours, some eco-scientists are conducting experiments that will conclusively prove that your children are in more danger in school than if they lived in downtown Baghdad. [...] Neither George W. Bush nor William Jefferson Clinton had the complete package of character, guts and political aptitude to effectively govern in perilous times and to secure his own standing in history. [...] A study by the Yankee Institute for Public Policy documents the destruction wrought by Connecticut's adoption of an income tax on wages and salaries. [...] The fundamental defect of the case of ACLU v. NSA is that it is wholly contrived. Faked from beginning to end. The claim of standing is for conduct that simply does not exist. [...] The Family Research Council is planning a legal challenge to the FDA decision approving Plan B contraception pills over the counter. [...] While real killer diseases that could be prevented or cured get scant attention. [...] The moral relativism of the Left can take us to some pretty strange places where Right and Wrong lose all meaning. Except, that is, when it comes to condemning George W. Bush and other Evil Republicans while giving a pass to terrorism and abortion. [...] The moral of the Bruno Kirby-Billy Crystal story is, never disagree with your “best friend” in Hollywood, if you’re the second banana, and he’s the star and the producer. Apparently, what Harry Truman said about friendship in Washington, applies to Hollywood, as well: “If you want a friend…get a dog.” [...] Liberal journalists acknowledge the threat posed by Islamic terrorism, but seem more concerned with the threat posed by Republicans who allegedly exaggerate that threat for political gain. [...] Bob Casey, Jr., running against Senator Rick Santorum, cannot have it both ways. [...] In his book Crunchy Cons, Rod Dreher argues that traditional conservatives who once tried to temper capitalism for the sake of community are now on the margins. [...] As I started watching Black Entertainment Television, I began to see the truth; that keeping it real meant sex, violence, and profanity, that dealing drugs had become the American Dream, and that the sound of a shotgun being cocked had become music on the street. [...] George Allen, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Dunkin' Donuts, 7-11, and a whole lot of macaca. [...] Like termites eating away at the sovereignty of the United States of America, the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" was hatched in some darkened cavern of the Council on Foreign Affairs and is a major threat to American security and prosperity.
