Truces or cease-fires are not universally accepted as opportunities to solve differences through negotiation. Instead they may be viewed as opportunities for the sides to rearm and prepare for the next round.

Registering a domain name with a famous trademark or name in order to profit from it is a felony in Arizona. The Democrats "American Dream Initiative" is based on the old carrot-and-stick trick. Dangle other people's money in an attempt to purchase votes and win back Congress. The nature of theocracy in the New England colonies is widely misunderstood. Few recognize that the New England town meeting, the prototype of American institutions of democratic self-government, was nothing more than the governing process of each Congregational (Puritan) church community. It is difficult to see how an international force would muster the means and especially the determination to keep the peace between Lebanon and Israel. |
