The abortion industry gets away with murder. If a woman bleeds to death from a botched abortion it is said she died of a hemmorage. If ever there are complications to the plan B or any other contraceptive plan used by a minor who gets stuck with the medical payments? Or how about mental health payments that are frequently necessary? The planned parenthood counselor? Hah! One more way parental rights are eroded. Forcing pharmacists and doctors to dispense abortifacients and provide followup care for tragic cases of non-healthcare by fly-by night clinics is infringing on their freedom of conscience. It seems to me the lecturing is done by the radical abortion mongers.

“With mid-term elections so close, the fallout will be against the Republicans if outraged voters in the pro-life base stay home.”
What??!! Get angry over one bad comment and let the government be taken over by the whole confirmed, dyed-in-the-wool, abortion industrial complex? That would make a lot of sense.
“In European countries where the drug has been available over-the-counter, abortions have increased as have unplanned pregnancies.”
This explains why abortion clinics apparently aren’t fighting this approval.

There are no definitive studies indicating Plan B is safe for administration to minor girls. That is why the FDA did not legalize it OTC for use by minors. As for your comparison between condoms and Plan B, the only thing the two have in common is that they are both contraceptives. Last I checked, teenage girls don’t wear condoms, and a condom is not a drug. Given that there will always be men who prey on young girls, which poses a worse possible scenario for a minor girl: The man using a condom on himself, or the man giving a drug to the minor for HER to use, and that is NOT proven safe for girls her age? I can think of nothing more dangerous or intrusive than giving men the right to push these pills on young girls. Other adults, including female friends over 18, can also buy the drug for a younger teen. Add to that the fact that Plan B does not prevent any STD’s (at least a condom provides some barrier of protection).

The Plan B drug has the same level of hormones as the patch, which has been implicated in strokes and girls using the patch have already died. If you call dying safe, that’s ok by me. As for your claim that the availability of condoms, etc., has caused a “decrease in sexuality”, no reply from me is necessary. Your words speak for themselves.

I don't get the problem with Plan B. It's contraception, not an abortion. All it does is prevent an embryo from implanting, something that already happens semi-frequently even without the pill.
As to the accusation that predators will give them to young girls, you might as well say people shouldn't be able to get condoms without prescriptions because if you sell them over the counter theyy can be used by rapists. That argument is absurd.
If you really are afraid that Plan B will result in more underage sex, you are severly mistaken. The fact of the matter is there is simply no evidence to support this claim. In fact, most of the evidence I've seen seems to point to there being no correlation. For example, condoms made of vulcanized rubber have been in mass production since the 1840's. The latex condom has been around since the late 1930's. If anything, the presence of things that make sex safer seems to correlate with a DECREASE in sexuality!
To sum up, every single study on Plan B has shown it to be safe. Whether or not you think it will result in negative impacts to society is irrelevant to the efficacy of the drug. The purpose of the FDA is supposed to be to make sure that safe drugs are available and unsafe ones aren't, not to play a part in the culture wars. If you really want to cause some change on the issue, why don't you take a page from the conservative playbook and start preaching about individual responsibility, rather than resorting to government regulation.
