In 1956 the U.S. spoke out fervently in support of the Hungarian revolution against the communists. However, as the author above accurately points out, the rhetoric was not supported by action. Budapest's streets were lined with the dead. Why did we, the U.S., not act? There must be a plethora of reason's, however, one was most certainly the influence of communists and other leftists in our own country. Now, when the spectre of Hungary's communist past arises again, will we have anything more that words to offer? No, because the influence of communists still remains in the U.S. as well.
I live in a relatively small town (maybe 22,000), in a small county (around 75,000), and yet on the center front page of our 6 day a week newspaper is a photo of an anti-war/anti-Bush demonstration. Sure they're entitled to express their views, however, they were organized by "World Can't Wait", AN ORGANIZATION ADMITTEDLY FUNDED BY THE REVOLUTIONARY COMMUNIST PARTY OF AMERICA. in my small town! (I don't know if the participants were "useful idiots" or "fellow travellers"-- does it make a difference?)
There are now hundreds of these variously named groups funded by the communists and the likes of George Soros. What? Why would a Hungarian escapee like Soros be funding groups aimed at bringing down the U.S.? I wonder if he's not bitter because we didn't follow through with our words in 1956. What better revenge than to subject the U.S. to what the Hungarians had been subjected.
"The Un-Erased Communist Past Is Back To Rule the Present" here as well.
