“ . . . the Arab world has never agreed to assimilate Palestinians into their respective countries and solve the refugee problem; instead, the blame for the plight of the dispossessed Palestinians has been assigned singularly to Israel.”
This statement should tell us something about the whole situation without our having to go through a lot of complex historical analysis. Not being Jewish, I used to be indifferent over the conflict until one day the absurdity of the Arabs’ stated position hit me: They have 99.44 percent of a huge swath of land between the Atlantic Ocean and the South Pacific, PLUS 100 percent of all the oil in the Mid-East. One would think that with all their oil money they could absorb a few million Palestinians (a people with a common language, culture, and religion) like the US, with only 6 percent of the world's land, absorbs 300,000 immigrants every year from all over, not counting illegals. But no; the Arabs can't do that. Somehow, they cannot do without this itsy-bitsy strip of nothing but desert with no oil on it. So, instead of spending their wealth on bettering the lot of their own, they buy solid gold palaces, solid silver Rolls Royces, and weapons to wage jihad. Conclusion: Arabs (more precisely, Muslim Arabs) DON’T WANT A SOLUTION that is less than the elimination of Israel. Even if this were to happen, one Islamic sect will immediately replace the Jews in the Mid-East pecking order, and war will continue.
For its part, the West (mainly Israel and the U. S.) is wasting its time engaging in the fantasy of going down a Yellow Brick Road to some Rodney King, can’t-we-all-just-get-along phantom “solution” that ensures the survival of the state of Israel. Such a solution would be a defeat in the eyes of Islam, so we must face the fact that THERE IS NO SOLUTION acceptable to both sides. Every time Islam is handed a smashing defeat, it retreats and re-builds for another try in the future, for Allah has commanded his followers so. That is why Prof. Moshe Sharon observes, “Wherever you have Islam, you will have war.” http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1064285/posts .
