Perhaps it’s worse here in the U.S. :

To remove Churchill from the history books in his own country is nothing short of outrageous and merely shows why this is a crumbling, has-been nation whose glory is long past. I don’t mean to be ungenerous, but as they continue to embrace greater and greater degrees of socialism and “globalism,” they fade further into insignificance in terms of culture, science, art, philosophy, and any other human endeaver. During my last visit there I was eager to see the sights, but alarmed to see that the only thing they seemed able to promote with any enthusiasm was the “British Invasion” of rock and pop, and of course the daily scandal sheets of the rich, famous, and royal.

A very sad commentary on a once great nation.
