After five years of relentless anti-war reporting, two events last Sunday signalled a possible turnaround in the way the 'mainstream media' covers the war. Despite our growing prosperity there is a renewed fear in many quarters that we are living on borrowed time, because we’re running out of resources and endangering our very environment. The problem is that the Times can't recognize economic cause and effect. As ridiculous as YouTube and many of its users may be, are they really any more or less ridiculous than your average presidential election? The problem of misandry has reached the point of commanding scholarly attention. |
