As we prepare to collectively carve what Ben Franklin thought should be our national bird, let us turn away from self-defeating mourning and pray that God will continue to bless our still-great nation.

If his candidacy were a patriotic rocket whistling over a blackened battlefield, it would surely miss the target — the most important ingredient of the fuel mix is sorely missing. Four more years of Washington corruption may be all that the nation needs before it will awaken to the need for another Barry Goldwater or Ronald Reagan. |
