In the present there have been and are many blacks that now are conservative. They speak out against the Democrat political machine that lusts for their vote and permanently seeks to makes blacks wards of the state.
The affirmative action program has been a disaster, in most cases. Thousands of blacks have gone to college and flunked out because they were unprepared due to their grade and HS Ed. Many have graduated, given preferential treatment and failed again because of that lousy early Ed. Blacks are still told day after day about racism and wallow in it, because of Jackson, Sharpton and others. Blacks like Ken Blackwell, Condi Rice are addressed by black activists as Uncle Tom's because they succeeded and became Conservative or Republicans. They also ran away from the Plantation philosophy of Sharpton, Jackson, Smiley on PBS and many others that are frozen in that iceberg. Blacks should take BIll Cosby serious. Put the anti-social rap music in the toilet where it belongs.

Democrats need to apologize not so much for the slavery they imposed on Negroes more than 150 years ago as for the more subtle slavery they impose on Blacks today. Back then Democrats made it illegal to teach Blacks to read, knowing that would keep them subservient. Today Black inner city children are slaves to a public school system which fails to teach them to read or compute adequately and ensures most of them will be dependent on the liberal welfare state for much of their lives. Black parents cry out, "let my children go" to the school of our choice, but the Democrat NEA slave masters relentlessly obstruct that freedom. A good education is a vital key to the future. Democrats have spared no effort to bury that key.

It seems to me that the Democratic party has never really disavowed 'slavery'. Instead of the plantation 'massa' blacks are emotionally enslaved to the party that will take care of the inferior race, taking care of them while they toil in the fields of party power and privilege.
I think it is time for a new civil war, only where is today's Lincoln?

Beware y'all. The movement to extract apologies for slavery is part of a scheme cooked up by trial lawyers to promote a claim of "standing" in forthcoming class action lawsuits for slavery damages that are nothing more than a raid on the treasuries of states and institutions.

Gosh, if both parties are against blacks, it's no wonder they are having such a difficult time.

freelunch,

Kindly elaborate on those "planks in your own eye" as they pertain to treatment of blacks in this country by the Republican Party and how it is a haven for racist ideology. Please be specific as I am most curious to know how the Republican Party would abide the likes of one Robert Byrd.

Also, please explain why the Democratic Party's platforms of treating Blacks and Hispanics differently through affirmative action and amnesty for "undocumented workers" is not - by definition - blatant racism whereby treatment is solely a function of race. Is this not the very definition of the word?

It seems to me that the Democratic Party is not only "...a party safe for racism" but a party that demands treatment based on race as central to its fundamental tenets of social re-engineering.

Republicans are not guiltless, but I suspect the balance of policies that actively hurt Blacks is something like 90% Democrat versus 10% Republican.

As such, methinks you have gotten the owners of the planks and specks exactly opposite.
