Ivan:

"When was the last time you heard about a female on death row?"

I guess you don't hear about it in the news unless they are about to smoke one of them. Actually, there are 51 women on death row across the US, and there was an execution as recently as 2002 http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/article.php?scid=24&did=228 .

How about:

“better to convict ten innocent men than to let one left hook from a woman be blocked”

And be careful about the capital punishment thing. When was the last time you heard about a female on death row? If the woman in this story is found dead, who do you think they will go after?

I hate to say it, but I think that no matter how many male horror stories might be out there, and even if every one of them were to be widely publicized in the mainstream media, the women-are-always-victims establishment just doesn't care. There is an unspoken (or perhaps even spoken) attitude that "it's just the price we have to pay to protect women" whereby a few innocent casualties are inevitable.

Sad, but I suspect it's the prevailing notion.

Sedonaman posted a few days ago regarding the old maxim, "better to let ten guilty men go free than to wrongly convict one innocent man." Today, that has been turned on its head and the attitude when it comes to VAWA is more accurately summarized as "better to convict ten innocent men than to let one guilty man go free."

But of course, this is only true for certain crimes -- generally those of the politically correct genre. When it comes to capital punishment, the maxim morphs yet again and becomes "better to let ten million guilty men go free than to convict one innocent man."

Funny, but when I look at all those statues in front of court houses, doesn't lady justice always have a blindfold on? I guess we've collectively decided the blindfold comes off when it comes to VAWA.
