The gravest disservice an elected official can do is to make a promise he has no intention of keeping. Nothing would serve the Islamic cause more effectively than a military confrontation between the West and Russia, and Russia has said that any breach on the NATO mandate on Kosovo would provoke an armed response. Senator Clinton's campaign emphasis on skill and experience is out of harmony with affirmative action, in which diversity is the prime criterion. Barack Obama talks of ending world poverty, bringing people together, and making peace with our enemies. But we are never told how. This spring, several hundred college kids will head to Virginia and Ohio to experience the coal industry’s environmental and social degradation at "Mountain Justice Spring Break." |
