If morality is a code conduct, belief, and worldview, then it can only be discerned by comparison to a standard. If that standard is contemporary culture, or what works for the greatest number of people, or what I decide I like, then it has been rendered meaningless.

There is no morality without God.

Or just like how sex is necessary for STD's to exist. Or just like how knowledge is necessary for ignorance to exist. Of course, that's not really at all relevant to the point that was being made in the context of the article.

Mr. Mulligan - exactly right. Just like immune systems are necessary for autoimmune disorders to exist.

However, since secularism is an absolute requirement of relativism (by definition, the religious assign absolutes only to God, in whatever form they conceive of him, therefore making it impossible to be both religious and relativist), it would not be incorrect to say that all relativists are secular. Most psychologists are relativists, therefore, most psychologists would have to be secular. So technically you could say that the problem isn't secularism in and of itself, but relativism, to which psychology subscribes, and which is predicated on secularism. Which is to say that secularism isn't the problem, but it is a required condition for the problem to exist. Hooray! Secularism is vindicated!

Religion is not required for morality. Selwyn Duke is right about the problems with psychology but is making a mistake when he says blames the problems of psychology on secularism. There are plenty of good moral people who are secular and who believe in individual responsibility. It's not their fault that psychologists blame evil behavior on wierd syndromes that they concoct. Also not all psychologists are like that or believe that nonsense. There are psychologists who do a lot of good and we should recognize that instead of painting them as an evil force.

“More often than not they [psychologists] will tell you that right and wrong is a matter of perspective.”

So why should we accept theirs as truth?

Of course, if morality can be 'absolute' <a href="http://www.intellectualconservative.com/2007/07/12/universal-morality-and-the-morality-of-the-universe/" rel="nofollow">without emanating directly from God's will</a>, the whole article misses the point.
