In my own way, Nancy, I am reaching the same sort of endgame as you. It is a disturbing thing to discover that in reality, your reasoned opinion of things are not only not accepted, but considered as making you some sort of Pariah. Beware standing apart from the herd!

Your personal journey in this is refreshing to me. Perhaps in time, I too will find some sort of Murrell's Inlet of my own.

Thank you.

I have as well, and I know what the experience is like. The difference being that I have never distanced myself from family who do not regard my viewpoint as valid, nor do I try to get them to see anything about me as valid. Expecting that from others, including family, is a failure to take responsibility for your own choices, which is what comes with freedom.

Been there, Nancy and done that. The socialist/liberal person has a tough time dealing with the family member who rejects their viewpoint as invalid. I'm glad to hear you got out from under.

Ms Morgan:
Interesting story. Glad to hear that you have stopped "allowing others to define me." Where does the money come from that you live on?
