The only solution is to remove the income tax via a constitutional amendment. One of my sidelines is tax preparation for several small LLCs. Just staying current on the tax code is an almost impossible task. Maybe they should have hung the author of Robin Hood since politicians have discovered that our republic that is moving to a democracy (popular election of senators and other issue removing states rights exacerbated by fools in states willing to swing their electoral college votes to the popular vote winner) and they can buy votes by taking my money and giving it to the purchased voter.

Consider the old saw...how many jobs are created by poor people.

Maybe the folks pushing the Fair Tax are right but even that idea needs a constitutional amendment to protect it from the politician marauders from both parties and the "independents".

Oh well, so much for today's rant after the Senate took their earmarks for a walk in their latest bailout. At least my senator up for reelection voted against it!

If there is such a thing as the politics of greed, there must also exist the politics of envy. The Obama approach of taking from the rich and giving to the poor is nothing new, of course, and has wide appeal because the average person is willing to get screwed himself just to stick it to the rich whom they envy.

But the rich are powerful because of their money and don't like getting screwed, so they use their money to lobby to get the tax code changed to exempt their particular business activities from taxation. Thus the current situation is just perpetuated, all because of the average person's desire to "get even" with the rich.
