Fearing for my children and pets, I went out to chase it away. Moving very slowly it crouched in a corner. I got a 5-gallon bucket and put it over the sick coon. Then I called animal control and they said it probably had distemper. They suggested that I call the police, which I did. A trooper came out and said "The only thing I can do is shoot it".
