Why are all conservatives so committed in their support for Israel? I certainly don't have an interest in precluding academic participation of Israeli scholars, but I extend the same cordiality to any Palestinian scholars so interested as well.

The reason? I have no interest in the Israeli-Palestinian struggle. I don't deify Israel or demonize the Palestinians. As with most things such as this, I doubt very much that either side is without guilt and am even more skeptical of America's ability to provide any solution. In fact, history will show that the modern incarnation of this affair was the result of mettling on the part of Brittain.

Let Israel solve their own problems.

You used "Moral Vacuity" and "Academic" in the same sentence. This is a redundancy.

Be sure to read Edward Alexander's "The Academic Boycott of Israel: Back to 1933?" in the Jerusalem post of January 3, 2003.
