In my not so humble opinion she was out of line with respect to Mr. Alford and Gen. Walsh. Boxer is one of those holier than thou racists who thinks that because she is a leftist United States Senator she can get away with anything. It is time she was removed from office. He has selected an identifiable segment of the population and is advocating for it. That is not automatically racist or evil. Do we even know for sure if his group excludes whites? Boxer, on the other hand, was attempting to diminish this man's position by citing a competing group to refute him. Clearly the implicit assumption is, "Hey, these blacks are more legitimate than you, and their disagreement carries more weight than you." Alford took it personal. But more important to me was his smackdown of a pompous, arrogant senator. Probably has never happened to her before, and it was loooong overdue. As head of the Black Chamber of Commerce, Alford is a legitimate authority on the economy as it affects those businessmen who happen to be of African descent. The head of the NAACP has no such claim. Boxer's argument in citing the NAACP is nothing more than "all black people think the same" so that the NAACP is as good a black spokesman as anyone else.
