John Boehner should be demanding an apology from Debbie "Blabbermouth" Schultz
I hope that we all remember Lt. Colonel Allen West. He is the officer who used his gun to scare an Iraqi captive into revealing the location of explosive devices that threatened soldiers under West's command. His own troops have said that he would carry a can of gasoline through hell for them, which is exactly what a true military leader should be willing to do. Unfortunately, because of this incident for which West should have been commended or decorated, he was forced to retire from the military. He subsequently ran for Congress from Florida, earning the wrath of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Democrat, also from Florida.
I've met many women who were cut from the same mold as Schultz. I grew up in Berkeley, California, where such people are unavoidable. They are abusive, foul mouthed, combative, and self righteous. They believe that no one has the right to disagree with them. If you do you are placed on their "enemies list" after which they will spare no effort to destroy your life.
And what was it that earned Colonel West the wrath of this person? It was the fact that he was a Black Conservative Patriot running for public office and worst of all, he won the election. Apparently, his latest transgression, voting for the "cut, cap and balance" deficit reduction plan was too much. While avoiding West's name, Wasserman Schultz stated that that "[t]he gentleman from Florida" supported "protecting tax breaks for Big Oil, millionaires and companies who ship jobs overseas." And that he wanted to cut spending in a way that would "increase the costs for Medicare beneficiaries." Her statements were, as is often the case, blatant falsehoods. Not that it mattered. Most Democrat Party office holders have abandoned all pretenses at an interest in the truth long ago.
But the attack wasn't simply because of a disagreement over a bill before Congress. It was because West was not a Democrat. He had refused to become a houseboy for the left, carrying their water and doing their bidding. He had declared his independence and had run for office and voted his conscience. Worse still, he stands as a beacon that Black Americans don't have to remain on the Democrat plantation. He is a man among men who knows the truth; that for people like him to succeed they cannot depend on others to give them handouts. And all of that makes him an enemy of the Democrat Party establishment.
In response, West declared that Wasserman Schultz had engaged in "heinous characterless behavior" and "was not a lady." I could have told him that, but then most of the women of her type in Berkeley consider the term "lady" an insult. And, lest it be forgotten, Schultz was the woman who attacked voter ID laws as a re-appearance of Jim Crow and then declared that non-Whites have a more difficult time in obtaining a driver's license or state ID than Whites do; another blatant fabrication.
The worst part of it all is that in all likelihood the treatment of Congressman West stems from a long tradition of racism on the part of the Democrat elite. Minorities who don't toe the party line are criticized, ostracized, and worse. And all because they are still considered inferior, depending on Democrat Party handouts for their status. Even Barack Obama fits the bill. He owed his party nomination to the Democrat "super delegates" who gave it to him over Senator Clinton. It's no wonder that he has ceded the leadership role to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
House Speaker John Boehner has, so far, ignored the attacks on West, despite Wasserman Schultz's demands for an apology. If Boehner were doing his job he would demand an apology from Schultz and if none is forthcoming, he should organize a vote to have her removed from the House. Of course, it is unlikely that such a measure would be successful, but he could certainly get a vote to censure her and to require the apology as happened a couple of years ago when another Congressman truthfully accused Obama of lying.
It is about time that the Republicans took a page from the Democrat's book and went on the attack when necessary. It is good for morale and it attracts more voters. Boehner should protect his troops just as West did in Iraq, and in so doing he will hang out a welcome mat for more minority Conservatives. His actions will let them know that they won't have to suffer the indignities that Clarence Thomas did at the hands of Ted Kennedy without at least some support. And after all, John Wayne didn't become popular by playing defense all the time.

“millionaires and companies who ship jobs overseas.”
This is such a transparent line of horse manure and I don’t know why so many people eat it up. Even worse is how politicians like DWS keep spreading the lie. Adam Smith told the story about the group of fishermen on an island. They would spear one fish a day. Then one of the fishermen made a net and caught 10 fish. That did NOT put 9 fishermen on welfare. He shared the fish and gave the others time to make a net. Everyone was living better.
Our problem is that we hate success and we kill the guy with the net and burn it.
For me the problem started in 1979 when the machine tool company went out of business. The jobs went to Japan, Germany, Italy and other places in the world where people worked smarter and cheaper. They worked so well that it offset the cost of transportation. From 1982 until 1998 I worked for foreign companies while America marched steadily toward vilification of achievement.
In a recent ‘lecture’ on the floor of the House of Representatives; Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D – Fla.) insinuated that fellow representative Lt. Colonel Allen West (R – Fla.); “…”[t]he gentleman from Florida” supported “protecting tax breaks for Big Oil, millionaires and companies who ship jobs overseas.” And that he wanted to cut spending in a way that would “increase the costs for Medicare beneficiaries.”
First of all; the DNC Chairwoman doesn’t have a leg to stand on in this debate because she herself voted for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act which cuts $145 billion out of Medicare over ten years for a $14.5 billion per year average. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the reincarnation of Alan Grayson and probably doomed to suffer the same fate as he after they absorb an even larger congressional slaughter than they received in 2010. Bye, bye Debbie!
