A so-called human rights defender has been helping Iranian regime propaganda machine in suppressing defenseless refugees. How has the Iranian government managed to penetrate human rights circles to advance its vicious agenda?
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is planning to visit and speak at the UN General Assembly in New York in the 3rd week of September. Expect the same old same old. Ahmadinejad will deliver his delusional sermon filled with lies, threats and promise of Armageddon for the US and the West. He will outline the failure of the existing world order and capitalism. He will tell you how the dinosaurs in Tehran are the agents for peace and progress. How the Israeli and the US are planning to destroy the world. Expect that the American, Western and many other delegations in the UN will walk out. However, if the pattern of previous years hold, Ahmadinejad's trip are particularly festive times for Trita Parsi and his NIAC cult.
Trita Parsi and his small circle of friends in NIAC these days are frantically busy carrying out their campaign against delisting MEK (the Iranian Opposition Group whose name was put it the US Terror list to appease the Iranian regime in Tehran). However, if history is any indication, they get to take some time off from this mission to facilitate, and set the stage, for Ahmadinejad's trip. Is it a first time for them? Hell no.
As detailed in Iraniansforum.com on September 23, 2007 Ahmadinejad spoke at Columbia University. Trita Parsi's calendar entries obtained during a defamation lawsuit (a tactic NIACers use to silence critics) show that on September 11th he travelled to New York and had a 5 hours meeting at Columbia. The next day, Parsi met with Ahmadinejad's ambassador at UN Mohammad Khazaei. In preparation for all these, a few months before the speech, the Iranian ambassador granted a $100.000 donation to Columbia through Alavi Foundation.
However, taxing tasks like arranging a stage for arguably the most hated contemporary politician in the word is not without its perks and festive moments. In the preparation for Ahmadinejad's trip and talk in Colombia Trita was warmly invited to the exclusive goodbye Party of Ahmadinejad's ambassador in the UN. Parsi's response to the warm and personalized invitation:
" Yes. I will attend the goodbye party, and wanted to see if I also could schedule a meeting with the Ambassador that same day to follow up on our discussions?"
The emails containing Trita Parsi's cozy communication with Ahmadinejad's gang in the UN was discovered as part of the ongoing legal case mentioned earlier. The Irony was that at the time that Ahmadinejad was speaking at Colombia (thanks to Trita Parsi and friends), other NIACers were mingling with the crowd demonstrating against Ahmadinejad, shedding crocodile tears for them.
