POTUS has a ’built in’ excuse for the 2012 general election: His handpicked DNC Chair.
With unemployment still hovering at a near record levels and democrats casting about wildly for a wedge issue; POTUS has rigged the game. He’s created a built in excuse for the 2012 general election that will serve to deflect all criticism; from him.
I’m predicting historic losses for democrats in 2012. I’m also predicting that they won’t say the drubbing is because they added $5 trillion to the debt, saddled the Republic with a mandate to purchase health insurance, or neglected to secure the border.
They won’t fault overreaching regulations by the EPA or the NLRB, the Solyndra scandal, or Operation Fast and Furious. Nope. The fault doesn’t lie with the policies. Likewise it doesn’t lie with the message. They’re preparing to blame it all on the messenger. No, they won’t blame President Obama; even though after November 87th 2012 his choices will be limited to Allied, Bekins, or Mayflower. I can name the built in excuse for this upcoming electoral disaster in three words; and they are Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. I’m telling you; she takes John Banner’s; “I know NOTHING!” line to an entirely new level!
Pick any issue, any policy, or any administration program and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz stands readily available to wrap it in a knee-jerk, gut wrenching, statement guaranteed to make any liberal begin searching for a gun barrel to place at their temple. Here’s just a few;
1. On health care – "We actually have not required in this law that you carry health insurance." Excuse me!
2. On the stimulus – “The mantra that the Recovery Act didn’t work is such boloney … You can repeat it over and over, but to say that the recovery act didn’t work is simply false.” What!
3. On the economy – “We own the economy. We own the beginning of the turnaround and we want to make sure that we continue that pace of recovery, not go back to the policies of the past under the Bush administration that put us in the ditch in the first place.” Yep sister; it’s all yours!
4. On public service union pensions – “To suggest that state pension plans for government employees are what’s dragging down these local and state governments is really unfair.” C’mon man!
5. On voter ID requirements – “You have the Republicans, who want to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws and literally-and very transparently-block access to the polls to voters who are more likely to vote for Democratic candidates than Republican candidates.” Jim Crow? Really?
6. On the debt negotiation – “This is not leadership. This is almost like dictatorship. I know they want to force the outcome that … their extremists would like to impose. But they are getting ready to spark panic and chaos, and they seem to be OK with that. And it’s just really disappointing, and potentially devastating.” You forgot terrorism, honey.
7. On the American Jobs Act – “We have to make sure that this is being paid for by folks who are not paying their fair share now” Actually they’re not quite dead yet.
8. On illegal immigration- Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz denounced Republicans last week for believing illegal immigration “should in fact be a crime.” She didn’t really say that! Did she?
9. On women’s issues – “The pushback and the guttural reaction from women against the Republican’s agenda out of the gate, the war on women that the Republicans have been waging since they took over the House, I think is going to not only restore but possibly helps us exceed the president’s margin of victory in the next election,” Errr, really?
10. On reelecting the President – “The president is in actually remarkably good shape, given that he is still struggling to help pull our economy out of the Republican — the Republican recession that he inherited. His numbers are still strong. He still has widespread support. If anyone is in trouble, it's the Republican Party.” I’m sweating bullets!
Is it any wonder that she was elected unopposed to the DNC chair? She was President Obama’s hand-picked successor to the post. There hasn’t been a set up this smooth since the betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane. These are just my personal favorites. I’m certain all you gentle readers out there have one’s you are particularly fond of as well. Please; share them so we can all have a good laugh!
I’m just wondering when the MSM will begin blaming Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s selection to the DNC Chairmanship on President Bush.

I'm with you on this one, Bill. Obama's DNC chair,
Wasserman-Schultz, suits him very well. Her appalling ignorance and her willingness to take leftist cliche-mongering to a new low insure that he, and not she, will really be running the DNC as we move into 2012. I doubt if Obama would get my point if I had the chance to explain to him just why Wasserman-Schultz's comments are odious. He probably thinks she's a tough-minded, hard-core partisan. As I've said before, lots of people on the Left think talking tough is being tough. No, it's not.
An update on the idiocy of Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Her comment on the democratic candidate losing in NY-9 which has been in democratic hands for 90 years and has an advantage of 3 to 1 in registered voters; “NY-9 is a very difficult district for Democrats.”

That's Wasserman Schultz–doesn't even do her homework. Weiner managed to hit a major hot button with many voters. That's why I wasn't surprised that the Republican took the district. I think Weiner might have done better if he'd actually had an affair; tweeting nude photos of yourself is just too weird for lots of people.
I tend to believe it was more about the alienation of the Jewish community. Jews make up @ 25% of NY-9 and a significant percentage of registered voters. The current administration in Washington hasn’t been very friendly to Israel of late.
I haven't seen any breakdowns of the NY-9 vote, but you could be onto something. One thing I think will happen in 2012 is that Obama will lose the traditional liberal democratic lock on many Jewish voters. You may recall what I think of Obama's positions (there are so many) on Israel. I'm not saying he's antiSemitic….
