If equality is the highest good, then we must eventually allow anything to be called marriage. But if anything is marriage, then marriage equals non-marriage, and marriage has been destroyed. Unless atheists can give an account of why naturalism is true, their arguments against God all fail, and they are left with agnosticism at best. The ideas of liberalism currently have effective control of America, so the conservative movement must deliberately instigate a war of ideas, with the aim of retaking intellectual control of the country. If you are sure there is no miracle-working God, then something like Darwinian evolution must be correct. But if there is even a chance that such a God exists, then basic intellectual integrity demands that you take seriously the criticisms directed against Darwinism. We American conservatives are all, in a manner of speaking, recovering liberals, and we must constantly fight the temptation to relapse. According to the Center for Inquiry, science is the highest form of knowledge, trumping religion, intuition, and tradition, among other things. However, there are very good reasons to believe that science is not the highest form of knowledge. |
