Allusions to the fashionable buzzwords of "Tolerance," "Diversity," and even "Freedom of Religion" made on behalf of the construction of the mosque, though rhetorically effective, are, ultimately, woefully confused and, thus, entirely misplaced. [...]  Like a disease that requires for its being the host that it destroys, "the Anti-Racist" needs, not "racism," but the perception of "racism," lest he die. [...] The overthrow of this old, crusty, opportunistic politician in favor of a younger, more charismatic, and more conservative candidate is what is needed in order for American conservatives to convince themselves and others that the neoconservative Republican is about to be relegated to the dustbin of history. [...] A tradition of conduct is no easy thing to define, not because there is no order or coherence to be discerned within it, but exactly because the order and coherence internal to it is at once vastly complex and incomplete. [...] While "the alternative media" of talk radio and FOX news is doubtless better than the so-called "mainstream media," it isn't much of an alternative at all. [...] John McCain's need for the conservative vote is matched only by his need to prevent them from discovering, or, more accurately, remembering, who he really is. [...] Americans seeking to combat the corrosive and all too often murderous effects of illegal immigration simply expect of its government that it discharge its constitutional duty to protect its residents by apprehending and deporting those aliens who its agents know are in the United States illegally. [...] Considerations of such contingencies as cultural traditions, widely distributed emotional dispositions, institutional arrangements, and habits, prescription, precedent, and prejudice, are conspicuously absent from the libertarian's vision. [...] To the leftist the predominance of whites at any given time or in any given place is indubitable proof of "racism," either of an overt or covert type. [...] Crocodile tears over the enforcement of immigration law, calculated as they are to win Hispanic votes, in the end will win votes from no one. [...] American gangs are vastly better positioned to destroy their country than any Islamic terrorist network, however sophisticated, could ever hope to be. [...] The agents of the Racial Industrial Complex are rightly being reminded by the Tea Partiers that their very livelihoods rest upon the fear that whites have had of being charged with "racism," a fear that, thanks to the courage of the Tea Partiers, could very well be fading away. [...] The attacks on the Tea Party should be viewed in the context of the political views of our "post-racial" President. [...] President Obama and the Democrats' imposition upon the American citizenry of a plan that it overwhelmingly and passionately rejects is itself an act of belligerence. [...] IQ's vary inter-racially just as they vary between individuals intra-racially. To this proposition, no one with a modicum of awareness and honesty can take exception. [...] From the perspective of the anti-American, America is beyond criticism; not because it is beyond reproach, but because, insofar as it is an emblem of evil, like all evils it approximates nothingness. [...] A modern state that has assumed the character of a community will certainly have unity, but only at the expense of discouraging the exercise of individuality or, in other words, only at the cost of a dramatic, virtually total, diminution of individual liberty. [...] The GOP will not fulfill the hopes that conservatives have placed in it as long as it can take for granted the conservative vote. [...] While the flexibility of tradition is among its greatest virtues, and while it permits the absorption of an expansive array of alterations, there are some changes that anticipate its ruination, for there are some ideas and practices that signal a radical departure from the continuity from which any given tradition derives its identity. [...] From what I have been able to surmise, there are seven arguments that have been given for "gay marriage." [...] In addition to his autobiography, there is a wealth of evidence that perceiving himself and so being perceived by other blacks as "authentic" remains a goal of President Obama's. Only by enthusiastically embracing a leftist ideology does he stand any chance of achieving this goal. [...] Harry Reid's only offense (in this case) is that he told the cold, hard, truth. [...] Those who are convinced that this is indeed a "war" should take the first indispensable step toward "the Victory" for which they long by at least understanding who "the Enemy" is and what "the war" is about. [...] A war in perpetuity, as any so-called "War on Terror" must surely be, can't but sound the eventual death knell to freedom. [...] For all of their resistance to the Palin phenomenon, members of the Brooks/Medved Axis rarely state explicitly why they so dread her. [...] |
