Sermon given at Charleston Baptist Church on January 22, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. A look at what the Bible says about unborn babies, and two of our most treasured musicians who very likely might have been aborted by today's standards. [...] Charleston Baptist Church and its Pastor, the father of IC, have sent the Washington State Pharmaceutical Board a letter objecting to the removal of the "right of conscience" provision for pharmacists. Removal of this clause now compels pharmacists to fill prescriptions for abortions like the morning-after pill – something patients could easily fill somewhere else. [...] Sunday, November 8th is the designated International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. The subject of "persecution" is often sidelined because it is not "seeker-friendly"; but the Scriptures are very clear that "everyone who wants to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." 2 Timothy 3:12 The story of how the [...] Reading between the lines of Scripture, I think there is a principle of Christian Compassion: not to “minimize suffering”, but instead to “maximize care.” Dr. C. Everett Koop said, “We have overemphasized curing, compared to caring, to our detriment.” [...] The crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, dramatically and clearly, sets Christianity apart from every other religion in the world. No other prophet or founder of any religion ever gave his life purely for the sake of sinners – not Buddha, not Confucius, not Muhammad, not any of the 230,000 gods of Hinduism. No one [...] All of human life is sacred. We are created to live lives that are consecrated to God, and can be celebrated in Eternity. It all begins when we recognize that Life is Sacred.
