The Left seeks the audacity of soap; they want to scrub away parental authority. It's not the nature of the evidence but the seriousness of the charge. It took America the better part of a decade and the loss of over 3,000 American lives to realize we were at war with Al-Qaeda and radical Islam. Now we are coming face-to-face with the reality that we are in a Cold War with Russia. There is a terrible price to accepting the yoke of Senator Government. All Americans should think about that before they go to the polls. The traditional American zeal which accompanied settlement — and the evangelistic crusade to tame and purify it — is being channeled into modern Environmentalism. The decision whether to insert plugs into nose and vote for a dishonest, arrogant elitist or hope to punish the Blue Republicans by voting for another, belongs to each individual. Why do our intelligence people think it will take six years or more for Iran to develop a nuclear device, when the United States was able to do it from scratch in just four, using Second World War technology? The American Civil War offers a better lesson on how to deal with guerrilla insurgencies than most previous wars that the U.S. has waged. The last amnesty rewarded those who were in the country illegally, making it obvious to all that America was a great picnic basket waiting to be fed upon. Ronald Reagan understood the principle of economic leveraging, and his Strategic Defense Initiative so hamstrung the Soviet government financially that it was eventually toppled. Perhaps George Bush's ethanol initiative can have a kinder, gentler effect on our southern neighbor. |
