Since it is virtually impossible to get a National Debt Relief Amendment adopted through Congress, why not push it through the states by holding an Article V amendments convention? Contrary to a couple of organizations on the right, it would not result in a full-blown "constitutional convention" radically altering our Constitution. The bureaucrats and lawyers who regulate charities tend to be big-government statists who disrespect private property and other constitutional rights. [...] The “Electoral College” serves two important purposes. (1) It balances the influence of the heavily populated urban areas (which vote Democrat) with the more sparsely populated rural areas (which vote Republican). (2) And it gives the smaller States a voice in the election of President. [...] |
