The communitarian church has it all wrong. Expectations of customers (believers) or noncustomers (seekers) don’t much matter. The work of the church is not man-centric. Her mission is to please God, not man; and as good and faithful servants, believers rightly seek the praise of God, not their fellows. [...] The impact of food stamps, Section 8 housing subsidies, Medicaid, and other support programs has been to create a permanent welfare class who, in terms of skills and attitudes, are poorly equipped to return to work. By design Democrats have deconstructed our American culture into a loose confederation of disparate class cultures on the verge [...] Margaret Thatcher, Jeanne Kirkpatrick, and many ordinary grandmothers are emblematic of this new self-confidence; we regard an older woman who is excessively vain or petulant as having missed this full maturity. [...] After devout Catholic owners Jim and Mary O'Reilly refused to host a "wedding" reception for two lesbians at their Wildflower Inn, they were sued by the ACLU. [...] Modern educators praise the advent of musical and film exposure for infants, thereby acknowledging their need for mental stimulation, but the average family in this culture is blithely unaware of it, except to get its unoccupied children off its neck. What does the near-ubiquity of this modern disability tell us of the state of boredom [...] The sexual molestation of children by adults is a serious issue. This is why I was appalled when I discovered a prestigious professor at Johns Hopkins University was an open advocate of — apologist for – pedophiles and pederasts (adults who have sexual relations with post-pubescent children). [...] The head of the U.S. Catholic Church blamed married men for child sexual abuse on 60 Minutes. Pro-marriage groups expect a retraction and correction. [...] An analysis of how the tax and spend policies of the left contradict parts of the Bible. Unjust taxation to fund redistributionist policies are what gets in the way of the individuals ability to keep the "fruits of their own labor," and is a violation of the will of God. [...] A disturbing trend has developed over the last few years of broadcasting the suicides of the weak and elderly in society for entertainment. [...] During an interview with Dr. James Dobson, an evangelical psychologist, Bundy claimed his viewing of pornographic magazines and motion pictures caused him to gravitate to killing women in order to achieve sexual gratification. Now we may find out that he murdered even more women than originally thought. [...] We all know of people who are mated for life, even serially after multiple divorces…and their counterparts who almost always find themselves alone. Do we know single adults who do not use the pronoun we? Isn't just a simple inspection of the syntax telling: "We, or Me"? [...] America does not just tolerate the sins loved by the Left – – Abortion, homosexuality, Balkanization through multiculturalism, and so on. Our leaders want us to love sin. [...] The solution for American education is not a longer school year for children in a failing system or more federal government control over education as President Obama promotes in his strategic plan for American education. [...] The Woman's Right to Know Act has become law in North Carolina. It requires clinics to inform women that there are more choices than just abortion. In states where this law has been passed, the abortion rate has dropped. [...] The debatable perigee reached today is almost unrecognizable, with its "citizens" (an anachronistic term) not only largely dependent on others for their own survival, and not even accomplishing the other basic biological function of reproducing themselves. [...] California has just become the first state in the nation to require public schools to add lessons about "gay" history to social studies classes. [...] |
