Another liberal competes in the arena of ideas by opting out of the debate once his ideas are challenged. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any loonier, along comes an email from Vermont. It’s time now to end this discussion where it began, with a return to my friend Harry. The danger of carrying liberal utopian thought to its illogical conclusion is a world less safe than before, and a society less free to advance scientifically than it otherwise might be. Those willing to die for the cause of pacifism, rather than “force” their beliefs on anyone else in the face of outside aggression, will always be successful in achieving at least half of their goal. Divided loyalties make for strange bedfellows, politically speaking. Harry and his fellow liberals support the president by opposing his policies. Fairness is as fairness does — rewriting the rules after an election is held, and other great moments in the Liberal thought process. One can only peer so far into the inner workings of the Liberal mind before reaching the black hole of logic and reasoning, where all input from the outside world is swallowed up into a bottomless void from which there is no escape. From Adam Clymer to the tin can lady, Democrats search for a campaign issue. The hallmark of every Liberal effort to persuade, cajole, or convince the public of their point of view when a simple smear won’t do is the one thing that’s always guaranteed to set me off, namely lying with statistics. It’s okay for God to support a political party, as long as it’s the right party — which means the one on the Left. “Land for Peace” meets “Peace Through Superior Firepower.” Don’t expect too much from a Liberal who thinks that “good” and “evil” are just four-letter words. The only thing stranger than fiction is fact, and the only thing funnier than a liberal in power is a liberal losing power. |
