Dear Attorney General

krnDear Attorney General Lynch,

I would like to thank you for the statements you made while speaking at the Muslim Advocates dinner on December 3:

Now obviously this is a country that is based on free speech, but when it edges towards violence, when we see the potential for someone … lifting that mantle of anti-Muslim rhetoric, or, as we saw after 9/11, violence against individuals who may not even be Muslims but may be perceived to be Muslims … When we see that, we will take action….

Knowing our Attorney General is looking out for hate-speech that leads to violence, puts my heart at ease. I uncovered a book that is being used to promote the very hate and violence you are so eager to extinguish so I wanted to draw your attention to it. Please permit me to give you a just a few examples:

In chapter 8:12, this book, believers in Allah are commanded to decapitate non-believers:

I (Allah) will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them”

Elsewhere, in the same book, a command is given to kill non-Muslims:

Then when the Sacred Months have passed, then kill the wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and prepare for them each and every ambush. But if they repent and perform prayers and give charity, then leave their way free. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful (Chapter 9:5)

In the same chapter, verse 29 states Muslims have the option of subduing non-Muslims rather than killing them:

Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah (non-Muslim tax with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued (Chapter 9:5)

The book I’m referencing is called the Quran (Koran). Turns out Muslims consider it their holy book. The verses I quoted above are from the Medina Period which was the last period of revelation, meaning these verses supersede previous verses, including those speaking of peace. Forgive me Ms. Lynch for stating the obvious. I meant no disrespect. I eagerly await you to “take action” against this horrible hate filled speech which more than “edges towards violence”.

P.S. I will continue to search the New Testament for commands to kill non-Christians. To date, I have not found any.
